Unemployed Civil Engineer wins Noosa Gift
Chris Mansell an employed Civil Engineer collected the $6000 110 metres Noosa Gift in dashing style at the Girraween Sports Complex on Saturday night.
Mansell,23, from the Brisbane suburb of Mount Cotton dashed home a clear winner ahead of promising 17 year-old Tremaine Peters and tall lean teenager Zayne Buckley.
Coached by his father Mansell collected $3500 for his 11.27 seconds journey. After his victory Mansell was asked if he had specially prepared himself for the this event . ‘No I just came to enjoy the running” he said .He has no special plans on how to utilise his winnings .
PNG junior Miriam Peni currently based at Ipswich took the Women’s 110 metre Gift ahead of arch rival Katie Colebourne with Summer Johnson picking up third.
Madeline Attlee who finished 4th in the Women’s Gift went on to score a convincing win in the Murray Surveyors 300 metres from the fast finishing Connor Loughnan and 400 metre specialist Luke Grimly.
